Life is a series of distractions and attempts to find meanings. Especially when you are heartbroken. You will find yourself trying new things, visit new places, establish new routines so you will be distracted from the fresh pain of your heartbreak. Or else, you will scratch your head trying to find reasons and lessons from the break-up, cause this pain has to mean something, right?

Your brain spins so much in the search for meaning, it hurts. You have so many questions and objections in mind, but he was so sure with the decision, so you stay quiet and left. You left feeling both too much and not enough.

Eventually you realize that this is the kind of pain you just cannot escape from. No distractions and soul searching activities will shield you from it. You have to go through this — no workarounds.

You sat down and surrender to the storm of emotions: confusion, anger, sadness, regret, fear, hopeful. Intense and frequent at first, but it will eventually subsidies.

It may feel like you’re going to be stuck with this pain forever. But as they say — nothing lasts forever, not even the pain you feel right now.
